This book is designed for children wishing to be taught approximately one year ahead of the national curriculum or preparing for common entrance/11 Plus grammar schools.
The emphasis in this term is on preparation for the 11 Plus and resilience, along with confidence and knowledge of maths subjects. (It is expected that children know all their times tables up to 12 and can add and subtract with borrowing. Please note we will check these at the beginning of the term.)
Subjects covered are: place value, shape and angles, measure, fractions, time tables for transport, shapes and nets, directions, data handling, area and perimeter, averages and ratio and proportion. All have worded problems to apply knowledge and they are at an 11 Plus level.
There is also an assessment which shows where a child is in relation to the national curriculum and 11 Plus preparation.
Weekly homework is included. We would also recommend that you buy the GL papers from info@thetrasnfertest.com.
